What is the difference between the Trojan 105 and a 105 plus batteries ?

I went and got me 6 new Trojan 105 plus Batteries (Stamped D8 ) this morning. The place I got them gave me new 4 ga. cables to go with them.

I was out the door tax included for $481 and they are on the buggy taking a charge as I type. I had been told to pay $50 buck to have them installed by a few folks, but I didn't think the job was that bad. I took 2 out at a time and replaced them so that I could make sure to get them wire back in correctly, Couldn't have taken over 40-45 minutes new cables and all.

A quick tip, A 15" rubber bungee strap works great for installing them ! I place the s-hook in the spot on top and placed a hand just above each of them and it was no problem getting them in or out.

you got a hell of a deal there thats better than 1/2 price and new 4 gage cables toio boot........has to be someone in the family huh.....go ahead tell us we can take it....................lol.................now its very important you break them in right......the 1st 10 to 12 charge/discharge cycles leave the charger on till it shuts off by itself this is very important as new batteries are only approx 75%.........you will notice a difference when broke in, speed...runtime......and less time on charger...............so make sure you break them in right...................................

Actually someone here on the board tipped me off that these were on Craigslist. I called them up and they were less than 2 miles from my house at a buggy dealership / Car lot.

Same as T105 in Ah ratings but some creature feature differences from what I read.

Takes a while to charge a new set doesn't it ?

I put them on charge at 11:00 am (eastern) and at 4:15 the ammeter is at 11. I wanted to check the water levels after a full charge today, it might have to wait until tomorrow.

Yes sir, but its real important to let the charger run until it completes. This is the initial freshening or equalization charge. Do this every time for the first 10-15 cycles.

This is from Trojan:
"Equalizing should be performed when a battery is first purchased (called a freshening charge) and on a regular basis as needed. How often this might occur with your battery will vary depending on your application. You will need to monitor your battery voltage and specific gravity to determine when equalization is needed. For example, it is time to equalize if the measured specific gravity values are below manufacturer's recommended values after charging (recommended value for Trojan Deep Cycle batteries is 1.277 +/- .007 at 80o F). Equalizing is also required if the specific gravity value of any individual cell varies 30 points or more. Reduced performance can also be an indicator that equalizing is necessary. Equalization should also be performed when individual battery voltages in a battery pack range greater than 0.15 volts for 6 volt batteries or 0.30 volts for 12 volt batteries."

I guess now I gotta start saving up for the Alltrax DCX400 amp Controller !!

Looks like it might be another $440 or $450, this cart is getting expensive.

I had plans of getting a 5' x 10' trailer in town to haul it and my Lawnmower on, but new Batteries and the Controller has eaten that money.

great deal on the batteries, and as for golf carts soaking up money...well, we love our carts (some to the point of needing therapy) lol. I need some new batteries too, I go about 8 miles and my meter starts to blink. And I did the epsom salt thing [cussing]. It has been pretty chilly in the mornings here with frost for about a week, so I'm sure that has has walloped my weak batteries anyway. Looked at the negative posts on them and it says E3, so I'm sure it's time for a change .
