Ebay Controllers ?
While looking at Alltrax controllers on Ebay I noticed all the rebuilt controllers, whats the deal with these ?
I notice some of them aren't that much cheaper than a new one, but some are pretty cheap. The big difference is a 2 year warranty vs. 90 days. I'm planning on saving up for a Alltrax 400, but that could change if mine goes out sooner than later ! What would the Alltrax 400 give my '05 PDS over the stock controller torque and speed wise ? Do I need to get a speed chip for my cart now ? |

Re: Ebay Controllers ?
New controller will give you much better torque but no more speed. Volts = speed. The "Freedom chip" for the PDS will get you to ~19mph right now assuming stock setup.
Some not all of the Alltrax line of controllers are programmable. Here's a pretty good discussion on pros/cons of rebuilt controllers. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...ntrollers.html |

Re: Ebay Controllers ?
Might be a bad move, but I'd have to consider one of the CTS Curtis 1206MX (PDS) 400A upgrades. It is $220 with a one year warranty compared to the Alltrax 400, which has a best price of $439 and a 2 year warranty.
It has a $80 core charge, is that refundable if I send them my old one ? |

Re: Ebay Controllers ?
Typically yes, the core charge is refunded upon receipt of a "re-buildable" controller which there in lies a rub of sorts. I'd double check with the provider to find out the details on the core exchange.
Good luck with it. |
