2002 EZGO TXT PDS Light Kit Issue
I recently bought a 2002 EZGO TXT and I can say this forum has been invaluable in helping me understand the workings of the cart and upgrading the cart. I can not thank the members of this site enough for providing answers to the questions many of us as new cart owners may have! I have searched through the forums and have not been able to find an answer to the particular problem that I am having; hopefully someone here with more knowledge than me might have a solution. After I purchased the cart I added a "street legal kit" and after working out some issues with the kit I had everything working just fine. On Sunday my wife and son decided to wash the cart and since then the tail lights on the cart dimly flash constantly unless I remove the fuse from the power wire to the light kit. I have checked the easily accessible connections and before I started ripping the cart apart again to check some of the less accessible connections I thought I would check to see if anyone might have an idea as to what could be causing the problem. It seems odd to me that only the tail lights would be flashing. Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to make sure I thanked everyone for the help that I have already gotten from this forum and to make sure I accurately described the issue I was having. Thanks in advance for your help!

Try taking a leaf blower or shopvac hooked up to blow, and hit everything that you got wet. Often thing that behave strangely when wet will go back to normal once they dry off.

Re: 2002 EZGO TXT PDS Light Kit Issue
I thought water might be the issue...and it was. After sitting for two days I reinstalled the fuse for the light kit and everything was working correctly with no flashing tail lights. I suppose my next question is if there are any suggestions on how to prevent this from happening every time we wash the cart? Thanks!

The trick is finding out where the water is causing the problem. You may want to wash one part at a time, to see when it starts acting up. I'm not familiar with your buggy and lights. Maybe try driving in the hard rain. If that causes problems, it's likely the light fixtures themselves. You might be able to seal them up better.
My buggy runs erratically everytime I wash the battery compartment. I suspect it's the controller ITS pins getting wet. The problem occurs even when I don't clean anywhere the actual ITS. |
