workhorse project
hey guys. Ive got a 2001 workhorse 800 that I am in the process of rebuilding. Right now it is striped to the frame. My plans are to eliminate the dump bed and fabricate a custom flip flop rear seat instead. Question: can someone tell me about the stock controller and motor on this cart. I noticed that it has heavy duty rear springs, just thinking about upgrades.. thanks

Re: workhorse project
Thanks for the replies. Lots of great info on that thread: - gives me some great ideas. Mine is an electic cart and I was wondering if the motor and controler were the same as a standard fleet cart, or if it was more powerful since it was rated for more weight. I will try and get some pics up.So far I've managed to strip it down to the frame. This is my first cart.. LOTS OF RIVITS!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Lord....
I'm not sure that even I would attempt that one. I can't wait to see what you do. How are you with a welder? |

Re: workhorse project
How that could happen in the 7 years of that carts life, is besides me.
However, that thing has lots of potential. Once you get that front end straightened out, you can put all new front cowls, a nice lift, nice seat covers, new performance motor/controller, and some nice wheels. and that will be a very nice cart to enjoy! If the dump box is in "Decent" shape, you can get some good money for it. And a rear seat conversion would be a very sweet install on that cart (the fact that its a longer then stock wheelbase), and should be easy to do as well. Make a back bottom plate out of some nice diamond plate, and it will look very neat. Hopefully you got some deep pockets, because that cart needs some major love and $$$. Good luck |
