Default How to test motor and controller?

Hello,

I had bought a 96 EZ go electric about four months ago. It has worked fine since the day I bought it. Week ago I moved the golf cart out into to the driveway and it ran fine like always. When I went to move it back a few minutes later it would do nothing. I have checked the batteries and I am getting 38 volts. I checked the power at the motor and I was getting 18.9 volts on each of the positive post. I used the negative post on one of the batteries for ground. The reading was 0 and when I pushed the pedal it would go to 18.9 volts. Is this a correct reading at the motor? If not where might the problem lie? I have 38 volts coming from the solenoid when the pedal is pressed and 32.7 when not. I would greatly appreciate any help. P.S. I am not an expert when it comes to electrical matters so it may take some explaining!!! haha Oh my golf cart is not a DCS. I think! Oh yes another possiblity is there is a black wire with a connector that is not connected to anything. I was guessing it may have went to a buzzer but not for sure I do not have a buzzer. The wire is close to the FNR contacts.

more than likely the wire for reverse buzzer...............best peice of advice i can give you is buy the service manual if your gonna do this yourself.........it gives you step by step diagnosing and troubleshooting..............best 30 dollars you,ll spend beleive me..........the other tool you can,t do withou is a decent voltage meter........these tests have to be done in order and in certain ways and its just way to hard to try and put it all here so i would start by getting a service manual..........i,m not sure but you may be able to download one for free ......................one of these guys will know for sure...................................

Thanks,

I kind of figured I would have to buy manual. Hoping it would be easy to test. Just trying to save a buck or two. I appreciate the response.
