Cart running half speed?!
I just purchased a 2005 Ezgo from my uncle. The stipulations were for me to take the cart under the impression of 2 bad batteries. I was going to buy 6 new batteries once I had determined the only issue was batteries. I was not wanting to purchase the cart if there were more issues. I took the cart to check it out. I replaced the 2 batteries and the cart ran excellent. I had given all the other batteries a quick separate charge for 20-30 minutes prior. The cart ran great for 10 mins or so before parking it for the night. I plugged it in and checked on it the next morning. The next morning I hop on it and it's just barely jolting like it's dead. I check batteries again and find a third bad battery. I replace it and now it runs but only at maybe half speed. I took it to a shop and they said it was the batteries. I get a second opinion from another cart shop just in case and get the same answer. I replace the rest of the batteries with nothing changing. Anyone have any idea what this means? I'm charging the cart as we speak. Hoping the only reason it's still slow is due to the other batteries draining down while tinkering with it prior to replacing the rest of them. I checked the throttle sensor by rolling it in neutral and it slowed it down like it should have. Not sure how to check the one under the floormat. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Cart running half speed?!
Okay, New batteries are not 100% of their potential until broken in, which takes 20 - 50 cycles. Not all batteries are created equal. You can put a meter on the pack and note the reading while standing and then under load. This information will give us more to go on.

Re: Cart running half speed?!
That's good not many people have access to a golf cart battery load tester. Slow is a relative term - how slow is it?

Re: Cart running half speed?!
It just seems it all of the sudden has lost power. Could that be an ITS sensor, controller issue, or solenoid problem? I've tried looking some of these tests up but some of the lingo I don't understand. Like the B- battery. Is that the Negative battery terminal? I tried clicking it from neutral to reverse 5 times and the beep code I'm getting is 2-4 which is "solenoid coil failure or disconnected". The symptoms for that is supposed to be cart won't run, but it does just not very good.

Drive it for a mile and then check all cables and connections for heat by touching them. If you have a series cart pay particular attention to the f&r switch.
If you have a PDS (f&r switch on dash) then check the speed sensor wiring from the motor end bell to the controller. |

Re: Cart running half speed?!
B- and battery negative is generally referred to as the same but B- starts at the B- terminal on the controller. But it is the same electrically if the big wire from the battery negative is solid and don't have a bad connection. This wire needs to be inspected too because if it has a bad lug or loose connection it would confuse readings.
