Default using 6 12v batteries for a 48v cart

Does anyone care to weigh in on my (hair brained?) theory to use 6 12v batteries in a 48 v cart?

I would wire 2 12s Parallel to a 12 in series, another 12 in series then 2 more 12s Parallel .

Total voltage 48 (53). The theory is would have move drive time because of more amp/hrs.

Currently my 4 12s barely give me 9 holes of live.

dont do it, the charging and discharging would be the issue. Because the 4 batteries would run out of juice before the other 2 would, you should do 6 8v instead

i take that back, 2 batteries would be discharged faster than the other 4,

Makes sense, the other thing I was considering was 8 12v batteries, 4 sets of two Parallel 12s. It would entail finding room for two more batteries. It would be the same modification for 8 6v in a 48v cart.

6 8s or 8 6s is the way to go. Yes what you suggest would work but not well and batteries are heavy so you could possibly lose run time. I suggest 6 8 volts at 190ah each..

I am intrigued by your insistence on 12 volt batteries. Considering it would be difficult, if not impossible to find suitable 12 volts with a similar ahr to the many 6 volt units available, why are you pushing/leaning toward the use of 12 volt batteries. The Trojan T-105 plus, 6 volt, for example, has a 100 hr aph rating of 250. The Trojan 1275 plus, 12 volt battery has a rating of 166 for the same 100 hr test.
The 6 volt are lighter by about 20 pounds. That 120 pounds for the entire pack. You therefore, are asking the lower rated 12 volt batteries to push a greater weight with a shorter ampere hour rating. The result would have to be less drive time as the batteries are not as "strong" but asked to do more work.
