Default EZGO low speed problems

I bought a 2008 EZGO TXT PDS for my kids and the batteries only lasted30 minutes. So I replaced them with 6 new Crowns @ 36V. It now goes fine, but when I tried to pull my lawn sweeper at low speed it slowed and quit after 15-20 minutes and stepping ion pedal did nothing until waiting 2-3 minutes then again it lasted 5 min. unhooked sweeper and checked volts at 37 and it went full tilt rest of day. what could cause this?

the fact that you were pulling it as slow speed......PDS's don't like that and the motor gets hot.....and your controller is shutting down on thermal overload.

This happened about 4 times in half hour before I stopped trying. It ran at full speed after but did I shorten the motor lifespan by my neglect?

no......but its not good for it, that is for sure. just let it cool down. as I mentioned before, the PDS drive system doesn't like to creep along.

I know its a little late, but you would have been better off with a Series Drive cart if you plan on using it for that type of work.

A stock PDS cart leans more towards being an On-Road cart than being an Off-Road cart, but it can be done.

What size tires on the cart?
Tires taller than stock (18") cause more heat at low speeds than stock height tires.
