Default 1995 EZGO Solenoid Help

I am trying to trouble shoot what is wrong with my cart? I bought a new solenoid and installed it and I still am having issues. There are 2 fuses on the the solenoid, do they have anything to do with the problem?

I have no idea.

Below is a link to a video I recorded today to show you exactly what I am talking about. Thanks for any and all help.

Thanks again

Welcome to BGW

Test the small wire coming out of the back of the charge plug on the cart, small red wire and see if it has pack volts, it's called the Reed switch. do you have the charger plugged in to the cart while your trying to run the cart. does the solenoid click when you push the go pedal? could be the micro switch in the throttle box under the rubber mat on the floor just behind the go pedal

The ignition interlock as rib33024 describes would most likely be the trouble. When you jumpered the solenoid and the cart runs in forward and reverse and reverse beeper works would eliminate the pedal switch micro switch, the key switch and the associated wiring.

What gauge are those battery to battery cables? They look 2 small.

To troubleshoot the solenoid activation circuit follow the diagram below. See interlock or Reed switch pic also

When you jumpered the voltage to the solenoid to energize it and you pressed the pedal this voltage also fed back through the pedal micro switch, the key switch and the forward and reverse micro switches because the reverse beeper worked. Your trouble is most certainly in the interlock-reed switch or a broken wire.

I think we have narrowed it down. But might be some other new unheard of problem.

Well thank you all very much. I will try and look at it today. Yes the battery cables are the wrong ones, I just spliced in some 8 gauge I had laying around to try and test the cart. The batteries are older and I wanted to make sure everything worked before I got too nuts spending my money.

Also Would a bad reed switch also be the problem in why my charger will not work? I know that it needs to sense a charge in the battery system before it will kick on and work, but so far my charger is DEAD. Thanks again everyone.

Not the reed switch but if there is a bad connection on the white wire going to the charger port, the charger will not work and neither will the cart..

The reed switch has nothing to do with battery charging or battery chargers.

What is the pack voltage?
For most chargers, it has to be about 30V or above for the charger to turn on.

What charger do you have? (Make & Model or picture of faceplate)
