Default Alltrax SPM 48500EZ ACTING UP

My Alltrax SPM 48500EZ is about a year old.
Besides the Alltrax, motor drive is controlled by the HD reversing contactor and solenoid.

Today while moving the cart around I had the following issues:

full throttle at any pedal position
no reverse but reverse alarm
at times almost normal forward
normal reverse at first then no reverse at 1/2 to full throttle

Never had a problem before this afternoon.

Batteries need to be replaced and the local supplier will not have any till next week. But, while this was going the pack voltage was about 37

Geez - not one thought?

The cart has been running normal for the past two weeks. Only thing I can think of is is maybe some water splashed into the controller when I was rinsing off the batteries.

porthole, I may be mistaken, but the Alltrax controllers are "sealed" to protect them from water. You may be on the right track, just wrong train...

Sounds like water in the peddle box, maybe?

Maybe sealed inside? The sides definitely are vented.

Don't recall if I got water near the pedal or not. I just assumed that I possibly splashed water in the controller.

Since carts are open outdoor vehicles, are the foot controls that open to the environment?

THe controller circuit boards are potted in resin which protects them from dirt, moisture, and vibration. They are water resistant- not waterproof and should never have a hose turned on them. The same goes for your wiring harness. Water can get into connectors and raise havoc and corrosion.

Stream of water on the batteries, not harnesses or the controller. Just thought maybe some splashing might have caused.

Probably not water on the controller problems. They (alltrax) have a video on youtube of that controller operating inside of a block of ice, that ice was liquid water at some point.

That is true but the control running under water is the HD model with special internal waterproof connections and the control in ice was specially prepared to insure water did not enter the connection ports. So neither one of these tests were done under normal 'plug and play' installation practices.
