Upon further investigation from what i've read the reed switch is in or near the battery charger coupler. If thats the case I have no reed switch. I have two heavy wires (white/Black) exiting the coupler. The white is going to the hot side of the solenoid and is tied to B+. The black wire is direct to the controller and tied to B-. I see no indication of a reed switch. In answer to your question scottyb I have +37v on the one small solenoid pin when the pedal is pressed. Still nothing on the other small pin. Neither small pin has voltage until the pedal is pressed.

The reed switch is inside the charger port. You should have three wires exiting thee port, two heavier wires and one smaller wire. The smaller wire is the reed switch.

No small red wire exiting the charger port. I will open the port and see what I find. Does it just snap apart? Don't want to brake it.

If you only have a white and a black wire coming out, nothing else, you don't have a reed switch. It can only be located there to work. No reed switch, that ain't your problem.

The reed switch has a white wire see picture.
The charge receptacle has 3 screws holding the 2 halves together.
Your cart originally had the reed switch. Many have been bypassed. Either way verify you have power to the F&R ms

OK I'm sure there is no reed switch. I do have power at the F/R switch. I am confused just a bit. Should the F/R switch have continuity on all four post regardless of whether its in forward or reverse? In the neutral position I have no continuity but in forward or reverse I have continuity around and across regardless of whether it's in F/R. Also there is 37v on all post whether in F/R.

I see you're new here. There are basically two circuits. One has small wires, and the other has big cables. ScottyB was asking about the small wire circuit. He asked about the FNR MS, which means microswitch. If you don't have a wiring diagram, go to the stickies and find one. Then connect your meter's negative to your battery pack negative, and follow the wiring diagram, until you find where the voltage disappears.

Thanks yurtle. Definately new here and have owned a golf cart all of 2 months. This is all new to me. I'll check the MS voltage and get back. Thanks again.

OK. I have power at both FNR microswitches on all post as long as not in the neutral position. I'm at a loss. Starting to think the motor is cooked. I checked voltage between B- and M- on the controller. It seems good. Upon pressing the pedal I get 37v and as pedal is slowly pressed to the floor it drops off. I think that is correct? Solenoid clicks when the pedal is pressed and seems to be working properly. Is there a way to bypass the solenoid? Continuity is good on the motor. Is there a way to run test the motor without removing it?

Okay we're getting somewhere. Controller is working - which means all the low end (small wires) is working. I suspect the trouble is in the F&R or motor.

You may want to remove the switch cam from the F&R and inspect the contacts for obvious damage.
