Thumbs up Scotty B to the rescue!

I have to thank Scotty B for saving our vacation. My family vacations in the Catskills (upstate NY). We meet up with several other family members and do all the great outdoor family stuff. Our cousins have three stock carts that all of us have used for years. My kids have been asking if we could bring our cart (they want to show off). I put a 16' landscape trailer together the past 4 months and told the kids we could take our cart on vacation this year. They were super excited.

We trailered the cart from Maryland without issue ( windshield removed), five hour ride. Got to the mountains and everything was great. Our cart was a hit and everyone want to drive and ride on it. We have a trail that we typically only took a JD Gator on in years past due to being so rough. Of course, we decide our cart can handle the trail and proceed to load up 6 kids and head out. We successfully navigated the trail twice with all cousins getting a turn. My oldest daughter was so proud that our cart was able to do this and a hit with the whole family. After the last trip, we headed out to a different part of the property. All of a sudden, the cart dies. I put my hand on the controller and it was smoking hot.

My stomach sunk, I know it was shot. It cooled down, cart would run for 100 ft and die, we did this four time to get back to the houses.

I have sung the praises of Scotty before so I knew who to call to get the best advice on what to do. He confirmed my fears about the Logi controller being toast. He thought the Alltrax SPM-48500 would be the best option for our application so I pulled the trigger. Two days later the new controller arrived. It was meticulously packaged to ensure safe shipping with has standard great instructions.
I took less than an hour to install and worked on the first attempt. It is a sweet controller, far superior than the previous but right now, more importantly our vacation is rolling along thanks to the continued great customer service by Scotty B. We have said it before, but Scotty B is the man!! My entire family thanks you.

Sorry to hear that your not so old controller went south! I have still haven't taken the plunge, but the longer I wait the more I realize that going overkill on the controller right off the bat is the way to go. I wanted 400 amps but I'm going to go with 500 amps in the Spring.

Scottyb is definitely the man and this is just another example of him bending over backwards to help his customers. It's too bad this site doesn't have a reputation system or a way to "like" posts!

Summer has been busy for us all and I still haven't stopped by to ride in that beast since you went 48v. I will be in touch in the next month especially since you have even more firepower under the seat. Enjoy the vacation time!
