Default taillights

what is the proper wiring diagram for 12v LED ? without a converter , I hooked them up to 1st positive battery cable and the 2nd battery negative for 12 volts . when I turn the light switch off they still glow with 3 volt somehow back feeding 3v through the negative line ...

how could taillight be glowing with the switch off ? does not seem possible . I wired them to pos. on first battery to swith then to lights and then the negative on the 2nd battery. Has 12volts when switch is on , but get 3volt and light glow when switch is off makes no sense. I don't believe the frame has a ground wire

On the ones I install, the harness after installation only requires connection of two wires. A blue (sometimes red) fused wire for +12V and a ground off the controller box harness.

Is the switch on the positive or negative side?

If you've got it wired correctly, all I can think of is that maybe you've got a bad switch that's maybe letting a little voltage through in the "off" position. You don't have anything grounded to your frame, do you? That's a no-no....all grounds need to go straight to battery pack....

I don't know if you are using a kit that involves it, but the cheap little crap relay that comes with many of those kits has had major issues of late. I had one meltdown the other day while the ignition was off......fortunately I was troubleshooting another issue in the same area of wiring and saw it start smoking. If that relay has failed, or is in some manner failing, you could see voltage leaking through.

If there is a relay, unhook/unplug it to see if the lights shut off
