I just got off the phone with them and talked to a guy named Mark. He was very helpful and knowledgeable about what he can provide. I had to leave a message on there answering machine but they got back with me pretty quick.

Zero speed increase. Bandit is a stock rebuild. Unless your motor was bad (or sepex) you won't see a speed increase.

I saw a speed increase in my cart. I have a 95 Medalist series motor, upgraded to a Bandit, with stock controller and my cart went from 12.3 mph to 16.8 on a flat surface and from 7.2-10.1 up a hill. It was the best $225 I have spent on my cart. My next purchase will be a new controller and solenoid from Scotty. I'm probably going with the Alltrax SPM48500 package he sells with the big solenoid.

The key words are UP TO 25mph.

They further specify:
Speed up to 25mph (with stock controller, good quality battery pack, and all Regen braking is removed with Bandit upgrade).

The mention of regen indicates that is for a sepex cart, not a series cart.

But landlover also supported their claim with a speed increase. So where is the stats on the no speed increase that you stated. Not trying to start anything just trying to figure out the facts

Beg to differ. A couple of years ago, I sent my motor in for a Bandit rebuild and was rewarded with a six mph increase. This was on a 1986 Club Car resistor cart. There was nothing wrong with my motor and my original speed was the same as any resistor Club Car of that vintage.

I've had two identical resister cc ds's. One did 11 mph, the other did 16 mph. Neither had any mods and were just rewired with new cables. I suspect something was worn in your motor.

The speed a cart travels at is determined by how fast the motor spins and the final drive ratio. How fast the motor spins under a given mechanical load at a given applied voltage is determined by the relative strengths of the magnetic fields generated by the stationary (stator aka field) windings and rotating (armature) windings.

I do not know if Plum Quick rewinds the stator and/or armature when they redo a motor, but if they do, they can create a higher speed motor or a higher torque motor than the one they started with.

However, if they do not do any rewinding, the RPM of the refurbished motor would be the same with the same battery pack, cables, tires and controller in the same cart, so any speed gains would come from recovered losses that existed in the old motor.

Again, I don't know what they do, but if the max RPM of a mechanically sound series motor increases, the windings have been altered.

-----------
I am curious about the statement that all Regen Braking is removed.

Perhaps they mean that Regen Braking should not be used with the motors they redo.
That is understandable since it produces more motor heat, but I believe the ability to produce regenerative current is intrinsic to the sepex design.
