anti corrosion lube question...
i have an `02 txt that i am responsible for and i am a self diagnosed electrical moron so i may ask some dumb questions-here goes....what is the best substance to use in electrical connections to stop corrosion? i have seen lithium grease,silicon grease,ect. used over the years-what is your recomendation`s?

Synthetic grease works very well for me. The object is to keep the metal connectors from contacting the air (vapors)

Yes Dielectric grease too,just not a regular grease or lithium-based,they conduct and will cause problems.Also,always coat the connections After installation,not during,since the grease will insulate,and cause poor connections.Hope this helps.

Go to an auto parts store and ask for "Battery Protector" spray. After cleaning and retightening your terminals spray this stuff on them. The stuff is use is kind of a transparent redish spray. I redo the terminals every year and have yet to see a hint of corrosion.

Whatever you use do not use WD-40 to protect battery terminals. It turns the terminals light grey and eventually a poor connection that looks ok develops. I have been experimenting with petroleum jelly but I am not going to recommend it yet but it is cheap .

Scotch has a real nice spray,that looks like red primer,i had a bad distributor cap in the wet season,and it sealed it till the new one came in.
