Question Cart Stopped On Hill, Had to Rest with Tow Switch

2010 RXV. Runs great. Stopped on hill. Pushed break. Got ready to go and it beeped in forward and reverse. Pressed peddle. Wouldn't move. Rolled it back to flat ground. Toggled the tow switch and all was fine. Is this normal. Don't understand the cart quite yet. It's new to me. This has happened twice now. Both times stopped on steep hill.

Thanks.

Keep running up that hill and you are going to be replacing a controller. The controller is likely overheating and going into thermal shut down. Lift the seat and feel the controller next time it shuts down.

Okay. Thanks. Am I allowed to ask where under the seat the controller is? Is it the black box that the tow switch is on?

Also possible the brake pedal is not returning to "0". RXV has a certain set of things that have to happen before it behaves.

on rxv if you hold brake or "Gas" pedal at key on , the controller will see this as a failed
"POWER ON SELF TEST".
the PARKING BRAKE is the brake on the rear of the motor. It is not used to slow the cart during normal operation.
Normal brake operation is done by the MOTOR and CONTROLLER.
There is no need to hold brake when powering cart on even on hills as parking brake does not release until you push "GAS" in forward or reverse.
-----Controller overheating on hills going into thermal shutdown-----
not likely on RXV controller and motor don't work same as on older carts.
Hills will not overheat motor or controller.
Live and work in very hilly area-- RXV's outperform all electrics on hills.
Use the cool motor after climbing big hill behind shop as SELLING POINT for RXV'S
Controller on rxv never seen thermal issue, no matter how hard we push them .
BIG HILL wide open throttle long high speed runs--motor controller run relatively cool.
90 degree 70 percent humidity still no thermal issues.
Anyone see thermal problems with RXV???

What do you attribute the less heat generated by the controller and motor to? What is so different about how the RXV controls speed and furnishes power to the motor as in other EZGO cart systems?

There is not much technical information on the RXV system here or I don't know how to find it. It is kind of a mystery cart how it works.
