Default RXV Voltage Reducer

Just got a rxv I've got four 12 volt batteries and I'm looking to put an led light bar on it like: http://www.jasonsgolfcarts.com/LED_U...p/lgt-704l.htm

I plan to use it for hunting is that gonna be as bright as putting a head light kit?

Will this voltage reducer work vs the more expensive ezgo one?

You gotta tell us if it will work or not. It is only good to 10 amps @ 12 volts. How much do the lights pull? If less than 10 amps it will work. If they pull more than 10 amps it will not work.

The lights should only draw around 5 amps. I was just curious if any of y'all might have used that voltage reducer. It should work but I just was a little bit skeptical with such a huge price difference.

Hi biggreenz first off all, there is no doubt this light bar will be as bright as a regular headlight kit maybe more.. Are you just going to run this light bar with your voltage reducer,, or you will add other accessories ???

Usually they recommend a 30amp reducer. I put a 30amp, I have 2- 15w led head lights, 1- halogen cargo light, 1- halogen back up light, and a 12v outlet for charging phone ect or a hand held light if searching for a downed animal. 10amps will cover what you are planning now but doesn't leave room for adding accessories later.

It will work, yes. It's cheap because it's only good for 10 amps. If all you plan on connecting to the reducer is the light bar I see no problem with it.

Make sure you connect it to a switched power source so the reducer is "disconnected" when the key is off. If you have an RXV you can find switched power on the key switch and the solenoid. I have mine on the solenoid as it was easier/quicker to get to.

Hello all, I just joined recently and find this forum very helpful. Sorry to have my first post a 'for sale' but I just bought a new reducer from Scottyb at carts unlimited. Its a 30A 36V or 48V reducer DC105

Its brand new in the box and never been used. I decided (after reading a bunch of posts) to go the separate battery route. I'll let the reducer go for a great price if you still want one.

I know I can't PM yet and haven't done the requisite number of posts etc. but I thought we could help each other out.

Thanks;

Mike H
