Default New Horn?

Just got a UNIVERSAL GOLF CART HORN & BUTTON KIT. Will an 8 volt battery make it toot - toot? I have a 2010 txt and being ignorant about batteries, voltage etc i am at a loss on how to hook it up. Was just hoping to hook it up to the first 8 volt battery in the series. Will this work?

no ... for 48V electric golf carts, you will need to use a 16v to 12 v or 48v to 12v Voltage Reducer
recommend the 48v to 12v reducer @ 30A as it keeps battery pack balanced and you can (and will) add other 12v stuff

Any suggestions on where to get a 48 to 12 reducer and what kind to get?
Thank you for your reply

I'd hook that 12v horn up to two 8v batteries. It won't hurt the horn at all. It will rarely be used most likely so it shouldn't unbalance the battery pack either. As a bonus it will be nice and loud.

Thanks sportcoupe - i actually hooked it up to just one 8 volt battery and it sounds great. It was a bit louder with two 8 volt batteries but i don't need it that loud and it really wasn't that much of a difference in volume.
