A few thousand members have used an equal # of Allrax controls. They are worth the sales price. Alltrax stands behind a 2 yr warranty on the unit. You won't find that anywhere else. They are hands down the best known name in aftermarket golf cart controls

I have installed countless alltrax controllers over the years. I can second the opinion that they are definitely worth the money. You will get increased top speed and torque. You will need to order it matched to suit your motor model (it can be changed or adjusted by you in the future, just need to buy a 12$ cable, and download the free software to your pc laptop).

Thanks guys that helps a lot
Nevil suggested using CONTROLLER, 500A, DCS Item#591, question do I need to change out and make up plugs to fit the existing speed sensor, etc.? or do they come compatible with the existing plugs

Nivel is not where you want to buy. Use one of our site sponsors who make this exchange possible. And you can put 500 amps to a DCS 36v cart at the risk of frying the motor and the new controller... did they tell you that?
You can use 500a with an aftermarket motor in that cart, purchase the 500a unit and program it for 400 amps until you upgrade the motor.
The Alltrac DCS control is a plug and play replacement. Don't put the stock controller cover on it, It will not cool properly.

Also, it can be had, from alltrax, with an adapter to plug into several carts. I think you may be able to use the clubcar adapter board. Fairplay has a nearly identical controller to "sepex" clubcars. You should get all the numbers off your controller & motor, then consult alltrax. DCX does not use the tach sensor, so you MUST NOT go wide-open-throttle down hills "just to see how fast it can go", or you will need a new motor, new controller, and new underware. I agree with scottys opinion on the 400a limit on stock motors. Stock motor will run really great on 500a, for maybe a month.

Thanks again guys, I just got back an email from Nivel and he says that he made a mistake he meant 400 Amp, item#491 which makes more sense.

I also contacted FSIP they carry Curtis. Do you guys know anything on these? Are they worthy?

I dont often mess with rebuilt, but, Fsip is the only place to get a rebuilt controller, in my opinion. Your cart currently has a curtis controller, at least ours did (when we were a fairplay dealer).

Thanks cgteck, I wrote straight to ALLTRAX and they said they do not have a controller to replace that particular model of controller But recommended FSIP and that the kit includes: Installation Manual, Hardware Kit, Adapter Harness, Walk Away Harness. So I think that's my only choice!
