RXV Battery tray rack pan for 6 8 volts
Hey folks, got this part number the other day for those who are interested in putting 6 8 volts in their RXV.
Part number 627889 pretty much bolts in the replace the plastic tray. Don't see it on EZ-Go's site but I am sure someone has it.. |

Re: RXV Battery tray rack pan for 6 8 volts
I found that shopezgo.com carries a LOT of stuff not on their online catalog. When I was buying parts from them, I emailed them and they added them to their catalog, so I could buy them.

If anyone wants to have a look, here is one from an assembly line rxv, some are galvanized also.

Does installation require removal of the body? I assume it goes in fairly easy.
Thanks. |

cg, I would have taken pics but my carrier broke that on my phone so thanks. Did the one you saw have the extra brace above the batteries at the top ?
And I guess you could swap it out without pulling the body but it would be much easier to pull it and then do it. |

Re: RXV Battery tray rack pan for 6 8 volts
With the time invloved in removing the roof & body, i dont bother. It is tricky routing it in through the seat hole, but a little pressure on the front seat bottom support will allow the front tray bracket to pop through the seemingly too small hole. I hate that bracket, it doesnt allow for easy terminal and water maintanence (which were already a PITA on the back batteries on rxv anyway). The tray in the photo was removed from a cart a few days ago, to be traded for a plastic tray and lithium batteries. I couldnt see any good reason to cut & modify that new tray, when i had a extra plastic one laying around.

I wish they would make a plastic or composite drop in for the txt's, i think someone would make a lot of money selling those

I'm not sure I would trust plastic to hold 360+ lbs bouncing around..

Re: RXV Battery tray rack pan for 6 8 volts
Precedents and newer Yamaha's have plastic battery trays and they hold the batts just fine. They are very heavy duty and will never corrode. A very smart move.

All we need now is a company that has the money to start making them.
