Re: want to go faster !!!
Not as easy or cheap on a DCS. It is going to take an upgraded controller, solenoid, cables and ultimately jumping to 48v to gain much speed.

Re: want to go faster !!!
series or sepex motor it's going to cost, mines a sepex I went with the DCX400a controller and 400/1000 solenoid and stepped it up to 42 then 48 then a 48 v charger,
10 inch rims and205-65-10 tires, and made my own 2 gauge cables silver soldered, all that and the 2 additional 6v batteries is around 12 to $1300. The cart will hit almost 32 mph and Johnny B tells me I'm very close to the hitting the magic number where the stock motor explodes. Oh and swmbo gets very unhappy with me because hers is still sitting on jack stands edit to add like Sir Nuke says 27 is fast enough Last edited by vagabond; 09-18-2014 at 07:17 PM.. Reason: add on |

Re: want to go faster !!!
Sounds like you have a series drive (series wound motor).
Taller tires will give you more speed, but less torque. Same with changing gear ratio in the differential. Going to a 42V or 48V battery pack will up both speed and torque. Replacing standard motor with a high speed motor will increase speed, but may decrease torque. (depends on the motor selected.) Changing tire height, gear ratio, battery pack voltage or motor will most likely also require changing the controller and amp delivery system to match the needs of whatever is changed. Bottom line is: Speed costs money- How fast do you want to go? |

Re: want to go faster !!!
You'll need to replace the tires(or gears), Controller & Solenoid, high current Cables and up the battery pack to 48V. Maybe a high speed motor also.
The text at the top of the linked webpage will give you an overview of what factor to take into consideration. http://www.cartsunlimited.net/Custom_Options.html |
