Dead Alltrax DCX400?
Well boys and girls, bought a used Alltrax DCX400 controller a while back and installed it today to troubleshoot another cart that had voltage on the frame that went away when the harness was disconnected. Well the one I put in was worse than what I pulled out. Dead short from B-, B+ and M- to each other and to the frame. I'm thinking it is toast. Opinions?

I don't know why you would have any voltage to the frame? Motor short?

Re: Dead Alltrax DCX400?
Sorry, guess I should clear this up. Voltage to the frame was what was trying to troubleshoot and in the process found that this controller I was using to test with had a dead short between the case, B-, M- and B+. Glad I never flipped it to Run. Original problem I started with has been resolved or at least the cart is working. Still has voltage on the frame but not enough to freak out the cart.
So problem is dcx400 with shorted input outputs. Called Alltrax today but no response yet. |

Re: Dead Alltrax DCX400?
Thanks JB, I will try these tonight. Thing that made me stop with it was the fact it had conductivity with the case to all 3 high current lugs. That doesn't seem right..

Re: Dead Alltrax DCX400?
I'm trying to think how to test this thing without blowing something up but the fact that it has any connection to case is badddd..

Some times it's most economical to toss em in the trash.
