Default Solenoid or Controller

I have a 99 EZGO Txt 36V and when I got it the previous owner said he was driving it and just died. When the pedal is pressed down I heard a clicking noise but when I replaced all 6 batteries the cart still doesn't move at all and no clicking noise anymore in solenoid. I want to know is it a solenoid, controller or motor? How can I test each individual one?

What drive system do you have, Series or DCS?

I'm having same problem, I replaced a few wires on my cart due to corrosion and now it will not do anything.

I replaced the controller with a new upgrade 400 amp and new F&R switch.
I also changed the solenoid with another one I had in my shop.

My question is where does the small black wire go from the small terminal on the solenoid to???
I believe everything else is hooked up right.

I have no click noise though.

It depends on which cart you have (IE: Marathon, Medalist, TXT, Workhorse, MPT, ST, etc.m etc, etc,) and what drive system (IE: Series or Sepex), but without knowing the specifics needed to provide factual information, my first WAG is that it goes the the B- terminal on the controller.

If this is the case it will have a 3/8ths rign terminal on the end going to controller B- and yes, missing the (-) half of the activation circuit will cause the solenoid not to close (click) run the cart.

Series cart
400 amp Curtis controller

I hooked a wire up wrong originally. would the footswitch be the weakest link?

anyone have a good wire diagram? the ones I found on here so far are incomplete.

Yes, if the diode is reversed on the solenoid the pedal box microswitch is typically the weak link in the circuit. It pops like a fuse. You must get an identical microswitch with a roller contact on the trigger switch

Attached is the OEM wiring diagram for your cart.

The schematic posted has a Curtis 1206 controller, but some of the several carts that use a 1204 controller use the same circuit, while others didn't.

You will have to identify what cart you are asking questions about, to get the correct diagram.
