Re: cart died last night
Check for B+ at your reed switch, small white wire coming out of the back of the charging receptacle. If nothing, bypass the reed switch and see if helps.

Re: cart died last night
Hey Al, The resistor gets smoking hot when the solenoid does not activate. PDS or DCS cart, right? Can you verify solenoid is not clicking?
Can you tell with your meter current which is missing on the solenoid small posts when you try to go? + or - ? |

Re: cart died last night
Check for full battery pack voltage on Pins 6, 9 and 10 on top of controller.
Also verify the B- terminal is electrically connected to main B- terminal on battery pack. If all those are good, the LED should be on. |

Re: cart died last night
Unplug the charger - to simplify testing. Double check your reed switch bypass connection, fuse etc.

Re: cart died last night
Voltage source is Battery side large terminal on solenoid. Red wire with large ring terminal. Goes through Run/Tow switch.
Here is a schematic with it traced. |

Re: cart died last night
red wire from run tow switch goes only to the reverse buzzer, green black from buzzer
goes to #3 pin on controller. I opened the loom to trace the wires and found multiple butt connectors, looks like I have some rewiring to do. It's odd that it ran wired that way stock and at 48 |

Both the Red and the Red/Wht wires on the Run/Tow switch should have B+ on them 100% of the time (unless it has a reed switch and the charger is plugged in) The other two wire should have B+ on them when switch is in RUN position. It has to have been connected to B+ someplace or it wouldn't have ran before it stopped running. Butt connectors are problems looking for a place to happen. I solder and shrink tube or solder and wire nut connections. |
