14" rims
I have never owned a golf cart before. I am trying to decide between the
Yamaha or a ezgo rxv. I know I would like to run 14" wheels. Can anybody tell me if you can do this without a lift on a 2010 Yamaha or rxv. Thanks |

Re: 14" rims
RXV's do good on 14" rims ---14's w/low profile tires look GOOD on RXV's
No lift or 3" lift (cant remember--Will check tomorrow) w/ low profile tires...I am not a fan of big lifts on RXV's Electric or gas? On road, golf ,people mover? what is anticipated use? Hilly or flat terrain? How far will it need to go between "charges"? You can get good info from this site if you wish to give more details. Good luck.. welcome to the carting world !! pic is RXV w/ either no or 3" lift 14's w/ low profile street tires. Fast, stable , smooth-- great neighborhood cart. |

Re: 14" rims
I'm looking at getting electric. Using it on the golf course, and neighborhood. Prob will play a couple of rounds a week.

Re: 14" rims
Yamaha will take the low-profile 14"s, if you get the correct offset rim (if they stick out enough to need fender flares, they are gonna be trouble). In some situations the front bumper may need to be spaced forward about 1/2" with washers (tire can just barely touch the bumper at max steering). I always pin the rear mudflap to the rear bumper with a "christmas-tree push clip" like used on door panels on cars on any drive with big wheels. So, to answer your question, they will work with very minor mods on drives (no cutting anything). I do often need to trim the inner portion of the rear bumper on a RXV when running larger street tires. So either way, depending on the tires, you may need mods. What size & profile tire are you looking at? No lift used in either situation.

Re: 14" rims
Looks like a good choice for front rubbing issues (zero offset). It seems these are setup to combat the problems i see with offset rims that stick out of the fenders. Plus, less mud, dirt, & water slinging in the passenger area. I wish the crazy offset wheels were not even available, they are more trouble than they are worth (and i think fender flares look terrible for on-road carts). When folks see the pictures of the deep rims ("ohh, that looks cool"), they dont realize what the drawbacks are.

Re: 14" rims
Looks good!! RXV vs Yamaha ----Close call. If you have hills in your area-- Be sure to try RXV on hill. RXV fender trim cg mentioned is ledge inside of rear fender well. You cant see it unless wheel is off or you get down low behind wheel-- no effect on cart looks.. Good luck !! |

Re: 14" rims
No, not yet. Its about to be a close call when the AC drive Yamaha arrives (we have ordered ours, impatiently waiting). Then it will be a close call.
