Default Battery Cable Question

I saw a cart yesterday that had 2 cables on every battery connection, what would be the benefit of doing this ? It looked as if the owner had added extra 6 ga. cables and zip tied them together.

He is increasing his current capacity, just like upgrading to 4g. However, he now has twice as many connections and possible failures because of all the extra hardware. It is NOT the preferred method.

I curious if this gives him something like 2 ga cables ? I guess if one cable corroded off due to poor maintenance, he wouldn't be stuck !

Properly maintained 4 ga. cables sound easier, but maybe he just had extra's laying around.

In this guys defense let me just say maybe he is not a hack...maybe he is an inquisitive mind on a limited budget who happened to have an extra set of good cables lying around and wanted to see if the extra copper really would make an improvement in the carts operation....

We just don't have info to know......
