Club vs EZGO
Hey Guys,
I am looking to purchase a cart primary for street in my neighborhood. I'm a total newb when it comes to this stuff so I'm looking for some guidance. I have read where the EZGO is a rust bucket. I have read where the Club Car is slow. I am wanting something sweet that will drive me around in style, but I want to stay below 5k. Is this a good deal? https://charlotte.craigslist.org/for/4925031271.html Please help me make my decision. |

Re: Club vs EZGO
IMHO it depends on were you live. Example I live along the Gulf of Mexico so Aluminum frame was a plus. Also your choice should take in consideration if you want to work on or modify your own cart. Both Club Car & EZGO has parts readily available. My last Club Car was real torquey and topped out at 35 mph. If you plan on driving on the street & licensing the cart make sure you get a street legal one with VIN number. LSV are the cat's meow in street driving. My current cart is licensed and insured which was very important to me for liability protection. In my area most every street is 35 mph or less.
As far a deal on the cart, it looks like an OK deal, helps having the newer batteries, if they are a good brand. I would avoid any cart that has 12V batteries that is not 72V. 48V is best with 6v or 8v batteries. Remember this is IMHO. I use my cart more than I use my 2014 Silverado LTZ. M |

Re: Club vs EZGO
club cars are supposed to be a little nicer then ezgo. Its kind of a toss up. Buy the one you get the best deal on. Plenty of aftermarket stuff no matter what

Re: Club vs EZGO
Ezgo rides smoother than the Club Cars. Club Cars weigh less than Ezgo. Yamaha rides better than both Ezgo and CC put together. For a neighborhood cruiser I like Ezgo PDS for ease of operation, inexpensive upgrades get 25 mph.

Re: Club vs EZGO
I want it to look good and I don't believe it needs to be street legal as it's just going to be in my hood. I don't want to pay extra for insurance. I live in Charlotte, NC not near any bodies of water.

Re: Club vs EZGO
I would go gas powered myself but you may have reasons for an electric cart.
Just a heads up... insurance is cheap for these carts and makes you look more legit if you do get pulled over by a cop that may not be up to speed on cart rules. I recently added liability insurance to my motorcycle policy and my yearly rate went DOWN $26. They said it was because of multi vehicle discount.
