Default New front suspension for Taylor-Dunn B1-50

didn't like the cantilever type leaf spring set up on the B1-50....designed for smooth concrete warehouse floors.....mine only see's campgrounds and the yard.....picked up 2 1000#/pair trailer leaf springs from Northern Tool.....got hangers and u-bolts also.....removed all the original hardware....didn't have to cut anything......lined up and welded on new hangers....bolted on new components......only took about 5 hours at a very leisurely pace....rode much nicer through the yard.....gonna have to wait until better half gets home so we can see how it rides with 2 adults......most of the time it is occupied by 2.....

got to use the cart last week at our fire convention campground.....the campground is a temporary set-up, in a farm field with 1500+ campsites....rode incredibly smooth....glad I made the change from the bone jarring stock suspension.....

need to work on rear set up for next year....12 mph is way toooo slow.....the gas golf carts left me in their dust.....maybe upgrade to gas powered from stock 36 volt electric.....

Great job on the suspension change over! That is a beautiful cart. Maybe you could consider adding an additional battery to up your voltage (and speed) a little.

I've been mulling around the thought of updating the electric...going to 48 volts....will need new higher amp controller and solenoids, and a new charger....would probably go to 6 48v batteries.....at a cost of about $1700, I would rather put that money into converting to gas.....a clone motor and reversing rear axle....been looking for a donor cart for the parts.....
