Default Need wiring diagram Taylor Dunn B2-48 36V

Hello all, I just picked up a Taylor Dunn Burden Cart Model B2-48 36Volt. It doesn't have batteries in it so I used a diagram I found on this wonderful site to verify that the motor does in fact turn over. All of the motor cables were disconnected and two of the lugs had a big jumper between them so I don't know if the previous owner was trying to test the motor, or operate it on 12 volts only.

I have 6 large gage cables in back by the motor and battery compartment. Red and Black are longer so I assume they went to the batteries. The last four are Blue Green Yellow and White. I see 4 labels on the Motor: A1 A2 S1 S2.

Would anybody happen to have a wiring diagram they could post or PM me?

The serial number of this unit is 128458 which according to T/D makes it a 1998 model. It does look like the motor has been messed with though because there is sloppy RTV goop between the motor and gear drive housing.

Thanks in advance for any help.

go to Taylor-Dunn website......

http://www.taylor-dunn.com/customerc...formation.aspx

you can download pdf of service/parts manual......

I have a B-150 36 volt burden carrier.....after I bought some parts from local dealer, salesman emailed me a service/parts manual that was more in-depth than the one on T-D website......although web site manual is good....

Hey that looks cool! A mini fire truck.

I used the T/D website pdf and got the motor hooked up. Jumpered it from the wife's EZ Go and still nothing. Looked underneath where the throttle pedal goes through the floor and find the plug into the accelerator module has two wires that have been pulled out of the socket of the plug. I pulled the module out and took off the cover to find that one of the microswitches is defective, button on switch is always depressed. This might explain why the wires were pulled out and the ignition switch was hot wired.

I got the numbers off the microswitch and ordered two more. There are 3 switches but one is always depressed (always ON) so if that ends up being bad also, I'll just hard wire around that one.

I also don't know if I'll be able to get those two wires back into the cannon plug they were pulled out of so I will just cut the whole plug out and use crimp on wire terminals.

I hope these fixes make this work. I am hoping to use this burden cart to haul tools and equipment up and down sidewalks to test underground splice cases in telecommunications manholes. We've been using a Yamaha Rhino and it is seriously overloaded.

the black handle is used to lift the "pumper" body off of the T/D.....its made of plywood and 2 x 4's......it just sits in the recessed area of the burden carrier....the body is heavy enough that I didn't need to bolt it down......

That's pretty cool.

I have solid tires on mine and will see if it's going to be a soft enough ride. But if it isn't, where did you get those wheels and tires? If I can I'd like to fit taller and softer (air type) tires on my cart. I don't think 11 mph is going to cut it.

Tom,

the rims/tires were purchased from Northern Tool.....they are D.O.T. rated trailer tires.....I have the same tires on my aluminum golf cart trailer....I took a spare and bolted it on the T/D and it fit....I checked for clearances on front axle and all was good....went to Northern and bought a set of 4.....the hub caps are from local Club Car dealer......

http://www.northerntool.com/

Kenda High Speed Standard Rim Design Trailer Tire Assembly — 5-Hole, 205/65-10

$89.99

I agree on 11 mph...sloooowwww....can't keep up with buddies at annual fire fighter convention......don't know whether to upgrade motor/controller or go to a gas engine conversion.....

last summer I removed stock front leaves and installed trailer leaf springs and hangers from Northern (1000#/pair).....what a big difference in the ride.....I left the stock hangers on the frame and welded in new hangers....our carts are designed for warehouse duty on smooth concrete floors.....my cart is a convention campground cart.....was thinking about air bagging the rear suspension.....

Well SHOOT! Replacing the bad microswitch didn't work. Does anybody have a trouble shooting flow chart? I've tested the motor with 12 volts and that big jumper and it did turn over just fine, but when I jumped it off my 36V EZ-GO, well, NO-GO. Thanks in advance for any help on this problem. I don't want to purchase 6 new batteries unless I can prove that it works first.
