In Dash Battery Meter
I have a in dash battery that came with the golf cart which is a 48 volt. My meter is one of those bar graphs that shows the battery life left. It says cirrus on the meter. However I charge my batteries for 8 hours and the meter bar graph drops two bars after 5 minutes of riding. The voltage on the battery back says 49 volts. should I get another in dash meter?

Re: In Dash Battery Meter
Those bar type meters are not very accurate or trustworthy. You should look into replacing it with one like this:

Do yourself a favor and follow LVCJ's advise. You won't regret it.

A digital meter is much more accurate in determining the health of your pack, as you will know your voltage in real time while driving as well as at rest. |

So I should get a voltage meter indicator instead of a battery life indicator?

Re: In Dash Battery Meter
Yes get a digital voltmeter that reads to the 1/10 of a volt. LVCJ posted a link to the type of meter you should have above. That meter is waterproof, shock proof, and idiot proof (reverse polarity protected)

Ok. Here is my dash. Any idea where to put it? I was going to take out the battery indicator and put it there but the current battery indicator is vertical and the one y'all suggested is horizontal.

Re: In Dash Battery Meter
Or do an inexpensive cut in meter below the key plate in the flat area with the printed warning label.
