I know this is a super old post but I was wondering where you got the programmer to change this and how does the resister hook up? I came across the post because I have the same charger on a 48 volt bank on a golf cart and I get the same blinking light. The batteries are new and at full charge but I cant seem to get this charger to stop giving me the error code.
Thanks in advance,
John

If you are using this charger "off-board", you can install the resistor between the green wire and the black wire inside the charger handle. The programmer can be purchased from Fullriver battery in California.

Thank you for the reply. It appears the former owner had the green wire and the black wire just spliced together. I will atl the resister and not sure about the programmer for I am in Texas.

Is the reprogramming completely necessary? The charger is currently hooked up as an on board also.

Programming May be necessary, depends what batteries it's set up for, and what batteries you are really using. While, yes, "48v is 48v", the correct treatment for the particular batteries installed will help increase their life.

As far as buying the programmer, it costs about $100, and they ship it to you.

Ya I am gonna go pick up a resistor today and give it a shot. The batteries are just 8volt golf cart batteries in a 48 volt golf cart. The cart came with this charger and supposedly worked but batteries were bad. I replaced batteries and I cant seem to get the charger to stop throwing this code even when I know the batteries are fully charged and in working order.

I am going to go get the resistor in a few and give it a shot. They are not expensive so Its worth a shot imo.

So it appears the previous owner had the green wire directly wired to the black wire. This is not correct? Is it correct? I thought I read on a previous post that the resistor just gets connected to the green wire? Any further insight would be appreciated it.

Once again, the resistor goes between the green and black wires. Green wire does NOT directly connect to the black wire, it Must connect through the resistor.
