My People Mover project - Pargo / Eagle VIP
Is this an OK place to talk about my project? Strictly speaking, not a golf cart...
Bought it from a guy who bought it from Lockheed Martin's surplus auction. I teach at the school where my two daughter's attend, with a half-mile commute. Enter the electric people mover. |

Re: My People Mover project - Pargo / Eagle VIP
Got a question regarding the charger on this cart. But would it be better to start a different thread? There doesn't seem to be a designated place for charger questions...
Anyway, the cart came with new Continental 6V batteries, but the charger doesn't work. Seller told me he had a cart shop 'check it out,' but I don't think they did more than pull the fuse and look at it. Anyway, I took it apart and the rectifier is definitely burnt up, along with the ends of the wires attached to it. Simple enough repair if I can get the right part. The 36V charger has Tennant's name on it, but they told me it is an old MAC. They gave me contact info, but I didn't get a chance to call them today. Oh, and after I isolated the burnt wires and stuff I plugged it in and measured ~50VAC coming off the secondary, so I think the transformer is good. Anyway, I see the Franklin website sells a rectifier that looks right, and is advertised as for MAC, but they don't give much info on it. In the mean time, I'm disconnecting the most negative negative and charging the batteries 2 at a time using a 12V 10A automotive charger. Sound like I'm on the right track? |

I really need to know more about this cart! I located similar here in Kentucky by accident in a graveyard of sorts. I didn't recognize the name but looked it up and found very little on it. I've determined to get my hands on the cart and make it serviceable again if possible. Would you be able to send me pictures of the dash and "guts"? I have no idea what I'm getting into.... I've recently completed a Yamaha G1 rebuild....but THIS is a unicorn! Can you show me how the motor attaches to the rear end?

Re: My People Mover project - Pargo / Eagle VIP
That looks an awful lot like an EZGo shuttle to me. I have one that is talked about here:
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...tle-speed.html and a few other places if you search my posts. There are plenty of pics there that you can match things up with. My guess is that EZ Go made these and they were branded under the Eagle / Pargo name similar to GM making Chevy Camaros and Pontiac Firebirds back in the day. They were pretty much the same car, just branded differently. I bet this is the same situation. That cart looks identical to mine. Note the model / serial number in the OP's post. The model number is 956. The model number of my EZ Go shuttle is......956. Attached is a service manual that you can use to match things up with but I am sure that you have Pargo / Eagle branded EZ Go. |

A parts manual is attached as well.
If I am right (and I am pretty sure that I am) parts will be easy to come by for you as the electronics on your shuttle will be the same as they are on standard EZ Go golf carts of the day. Obviously, the brakes / suspensions are different. You may want to start posting in the "Electric EZ Go" sub-forum so you get more views. These shuttles pop up there every now and then. BTW, I have 9 carts all but 1 of which are vintage. The shuttle gets more attention than any of them. I love the thing. |
