1970's Flagmaster Golf cart rear brake problem.
I have a early 1970's Flagmaster golf cart. It has hydraulic back brakes. On the left side rear, the shoe holder broke off the backing plate. It is a cylinder that holds the bottoms of the shoes for adjustment purposes.
I have read that many of the parts are Cushman but I cannot locate a backing plate that is looks like this one. I tried to weld it back on but the backing plate metal is too thin and it keeps breaking off. I disconnected that brake and am moving it around with just the right brake. If you know of this type of back brake backing plate, please let me know. I like to put it in some car shows but I am afraid the one back brake will not stop it properly. John |

Re: 1970's Flagmaster Golf cart rear brake problem.
I was able to take the backing plate loose and turn it upside down so I could get a good weld on it. It is fixed now. I really do not know what to do with the cart now. I have two other carts.
