Taylor Dunn B210 won't go!
I have a 1995 Taylor Dunn B210. It is currently not running, and we are at a loss.
We've replaced all of the batteries and they all test well above 6V. We've replaced the forward solenoid because when we went to test the solenoids one of the contacts broke. We have now replaced the motor as well, and several wires. I bought this two years ago. It ran okay when I bought it but not great. About six months after I got it a woman borrowed it for a few weeks and drove it very wrecklessly (driving at high rates of speed over bumpy ground, then throwing it into reverse to get it to stop). It never ran as well after that. However, I could get it to limp along. In June it started stopping intermittently. It's always had an issue where you'll be driving along with the pedal fully depressed and it would stop. I would remove my foot and re-depress the pedal and it would go. All of the batteries are completely new as of 6/2017. We discovered that a wire running from one of the solenoids to the motor must have had a short in it because when we were driving if someone moved the wire it would dead stop. So we replaced this wire 6/2017. For one week it ran better than ever. Like it should! Then it stopped working altogether. We thought it might be another wire that appeared to have a short in it so we replaced that. No change. Then we realized the motor was groaning and struggling. We removed the motor and took it to an electric motor shop where they tested it and said it was bad. It was stuck. They advised me to simply buy a new one because the cost of having them repair it would be comprable. We bought a new motor and installed it and there is no change. The new motor is making the same sound as the old motor. It won't move but one inch forward and one inch backwards. When I put the key in it ticks like it's going to run but it does nothing. A friend of mine who is a mechanic thinks it could be the speed controller. Any ideas??? |

Re: Taylor Dunn B210 won't go!
So you need a new motor company that knows how to check motors, that's first.
Same checks as any other cart really. Is the solenoid closing? What motor did you put in? Does the car have the blue Sevcon controller? |

Do I need to have this new motor checked? The old one was unfortunately tossed.
I'm going to try to attach a photo of the motor I bought. Where would the blue sevcon controller be? The speed controller is underneath the solenoids and its black. I am not sure if the solenoid is closing. |

It won't allow me to post the link to the motor or a photo, but it's from CartsZone and it's #3256-

Re: Taylor Dunn B210 won't go!
Dressager,
Based on the date you say your cart is, the manual is probably MB-210-06. It has a great troubleshooting section. To me it sounds like the PCM. I noticed you said you replaced the forward solenoid. Taylor-Dunn recommends replacing the ISO and both F&R solenoids as a set due to one going out and abnormally drawing on the others. If you go to the Taylor-Dunn website you can click on the customer care tab and register. That way you can download a manual for your cart. Plus, if you email them, they will contact you back. They have not failed me yet. You can also call but you will have to leave a message. They may call you back but usually they email you a response. As far as the accelerator module, there is an updated 6 pin module now pn, 62-033-48. I have found if the ISO solenoid does not click within 1-2 inches of being depressed, it is bad. The book gives values for both creep speed and full speed. Hope this helps. |

My B2-10 does not move. How do I trouble shoot this? Where are the forward and reverse solenoids? The blue box is on and has a green blinking light
