Default Need New Battery Cables

I have a 48 volt golf cart. I need new battery cables. Should I get 2 ga or 4 ga. and any particular kind?

it all depends on what you have added to your cart . Are you stock and going to stay that way then 4ga is fine . Are you looking at a larger controllers then you may need to 2ga

You can use 4g for 400a or less speed controllers. 2g is recommended for any controller 500 amps and above. We use 2g cables for all the speed controllers now. The benefits of over sized cables out weight any savings of smaller sizes.

All of my cart components are stock but eventually I plan to upgrade, so it would be better to go with the 2 ga?
Does it matter is it’s a Series or Sepex? I have a Ruff and Tuff cart and all the parts are in Chinese. It does have a toggle switch for reverse and forward.

I would use 2g for this cart.

The incremental cost to go from 4ga up to 2ga is only a couple bucks so you might as well
