Hi everyone, great info here.

Question: I have a 1207 controller with just the RJ11 programming port, not the 4-pin molex. Anyone have an idea what the proper pin out is? Thanks!

If you follow through with Bob's guide to setting up the cable it should show up in your device manager as a 1309. There is a spot in the EEPROM editor that you can enter vendor # or something, that is likely what needs set.

Iíve been reading this thread quite often. I figured out that issue, wires in the wrong spot. I think the wrong wiring messed up the usb. I have another one on order now. Hopefully I get it all up and running tomorrow

I wouldn't even bother hooking up the +12V, mine has worked fine with RX,TX, and GND only. Less chance of exceeding voltage limits on the other pins.

I had the leads backwards, so waiting for the new one to arrive tomorrow, and hopefully Iíll be rolling. The OEM pc program I ordered came with V4.3, after doing some hunting and digging in the web, I found the V4.6.10, so that made me happy

Ensure your TX and RX lines are checked as inverted within the FTDI eeprom settings (USB cable). That will mess with communication. These settings appear to be easily lost so recheck them if in question.
