Hello everyone and thanks for all the info on this forum.
I purchased a lifted 2007 CC, Curtis 1510A-5251 and the previous owner says the controller has been upgraded to 500amp and 10hp motor. Everything looks stock so I assume the internal parts have been upgraded or replaced. He says he was able to acheive speeds of 36mph but I can only do 18mph /GPS. He told me that the controller was probably reset to speed setting 2 and that I needed to get it reprogrammed for speed setting 3. So I'm willing to try myself provided I can confirm a few things;

1- Is the controller enhanced serial, serial, TTY, inverted TTY, CAN? (there are conflicting posts about this)
2- As anyone been able to unlock speed 4?
3- Is there a manual with Curtis program settings ie. speed, torque values
4- Does anyone know the Conxall connector model number. (I could disconnect the Molex connector from the controller but access through the dash Conxall connector would be practical)

I will be running XP SP3 with COM port or UBS-RS232
Thank you

Well I dove in and tried an IBM USB-Serial Model 22P5298 and DB9 to Molex and it worked. I had to change the com12 to com2 in windows device manager because the curtis software would allow me to select com12. The cart key needs to be ON. Charger not plugged in.

The parameters I can modify are:

Speed Setting: Values 1-3
Fast Accel: Values On/Off
Pedal Up Mode: Values 0-2
Speed Cal: Values 0-10
Code A: Values 0-255
Code B: Values 0-255
Code C: Values 0-255
Slow Pedal Up: Values On/Off
KSI SRO Enable: Values On/Off
M2 Max Speed: Values 11.4-14.8

Is there a manual that explains what these parameters mean for a 1510A-5251?
What is "Speed Cal"?
I want max speed so I changed Speed Settings from 2 to 3, Fast Accel Off to On and M2 Max Speed from 13.1 to 14.8.

My next goal is Speed code 4, can anyone point me in the right direction? I see some have tried with Hyperterminal but none report success.

p.s. I'm pretty sure the CC Conxall dash male connector is Conxall 6282-4PG-3DC

I have found that the older versions of the controller software under discussion have port number limits. They do not include the port designations for USB.

SO, you must use a USB to Serial converter. It makes your lap top "see" a serial port instead of a USB port.

The only trick to this is to make sure the port on the computer is numbered the same as in the software AND to have the pack power, the key switch on as well as the USB plugged in BEFORE turning on your lap top. (The USB on mine is not "hot plugable" in this software, it acts like a serial com)

I have used several different USB/serial adapters this way and they all work.

Welcome to the wonderful world of windows!

Hello woodygb,
I've also tried to download this sw, but I failed.
I can see the 2 files, but when I click on the Download link (no matter the text or the image) the address changes (gets an additional "?disposition=attachment" part), but only the webpage loads again, and the download won't start.
I even registered to that site, but the behaviour is the same.
I tried from Chrome, and IE8.
Can you tell me, what's wrong?
(the webpage tells me, that those files were added only 2 hours before. Is it possible?)
Thank you very much in advance,
KG

HANDHELD PROGRAMMER IQDM-P
looks exactly the same as the normal Curtis .. PROGRAMMER MODEL 1311-4404.

Exert from the manual IQDM-P

http://www.scribd.com/doc/101630455/IQDM-Series-1

Test Menu IQDM Service Tool Owner’s ManualPage 9
PASSWORD TRIES
An IQDM-P and password is required to place the vehicle in "private speed mode" (speed setting 4). Thespeed controller will log unsuccessful and unauthorized attempts to place the speed controller in "privatespeed mode". If repeated attempts are unsuccessful, the speed controller will permanently lock out access to"private speed mode". In the event that "private speed mode" is locked out, the controller must be removedand shipped to Club Car before it can ever be placed in "private speed mode". For more information on thisfeature, contact your local Club Car distributor or dealer.
See following NOTE.
NOTE:
The IQDM cannot be used to place the vehicle in "private speed mode". "Private speed mode" can be programmed
only
with the use of an IQDM-P handset

I can confirm that the dash connector required to program the controller on a Club Car Precedent is a Conxall 6282-4PG-3DC available from digi-key.
