Default 2002 cc ds testing bad controller

Just purchased a 2002 club car ds series cart. 48v. The previous owner said the cart got wet in the rain without the back access panned on and directly rained on controller and after that I would occasionally work. The last time it operated (two weeks ago) the cart ran fine for 30 feet or so then slowed to a stop. Released throttle and engaged again and the cart took off very fast for a short period of time then quit. Has not worked since then. He believes it is the controller. The solenoid clicks when pedal is pressed but motor does not engage. The battery voltage meter is reading 50.0 volts on the dash. Anyway to test if it is s controller problem without replacing it. Thanks for all the help

I'm in the midst of something very similar and we narrowed it down to be my controller. Maybe my thread can give you some tips on what to test and how.

Okay thanks, glancing at it I’m still a little confused on what post you connect volt meter to in order to test for the controller. I will read it more closely when I get home from work. Thanks for the input!
