Most people disconnect the 2 small wires going to the solenoid, run a hot wire from one small terminal to battery positive and run another wire from the other small terminal to battery negative....it should click when connected to power.

Check your micro switches. One of those could be bad. Remember, just because it clicks doesn't mean its good. Same goes for the solenoid.

you mean the two larger posts on selenoid , one to a negative and other side to a positive, does it matter which side to positive or negative, and do i do this with key on?
The SMALL terminals. Those 2 are what activates the coil.

When you disconnect those 2 the coil will be out of the system. You will then be able to use temp jumper wires to check the solenoid. It won't matter if the key is on or off because the coil is not even connected to the key when those 2 are taken off the solenoid.

Do not connect positive to one large post and then negative to the other large post. That is a DIRECT SHORT and your cart may catch fire. SMALL TERMINALS. Again...SMALL TERMINALS not the big ones. Do not even touch the big ones to do this. (you can however take one off and tape it up. This will disable the cart but still be able to check the coil using the jumpers.)

If your unsure of this you should let someone else do it. You also need to place the cart on jackstand to be sure it won't run away and hurt someone.

Jumping the 2 large terminals is one way to test a controller. Its not really for testing the solenoid to make sure it works.
