They are one of E-Z-GO's Asian half-cousins. Well, they aren't half-cousins... THEY'RE CLONES! The only difference is the body/roof/seat back, steering, controller/motor, and they are 48v. I like them from what I have seen of them.

A cart mechanic friend of mine says of the Fairplay: "can't keep a motor in them, they just burn up."

I wouldn't put too much stock in fairplay/rough and tuff/star or any other ez go knock off.

The same great quality control that is on our childrens toys is stamped to those products...

Couldn't you just remove the motor and send it out to someone like EMP if that is a known problem?

Don't know if EMP will even touch it. You would need to call them and ask.

Also, who knows if it's the motors OR controllers? After all, if the controller is spiking the motor....

Are you really saving any money on these offshore products?

Maybe we should get the opinion of Froggy on this one. I think he has a Chinese E-Z-GO. A "Ryder," if you will.
