Re: hot motor
What kind of motor? How old is it? When did it start doing this? Made any changes lately?

Re: hot motor
The issue to consider is changing the battery and motor cabling to 2ga from stock 6ga and putting a controller in that is 400a vs the stock 275a will allow much more current to flow.
In a normal running operation on a flat surface or short bursts on a golf course with relatively small loads the motor would react normally and get warm. Increasing the load, tire size or driving up an incline, the current and heat would have been limited to what the stock 6ga cables and 275a controller would pass. Adding a high amp controller (50% increase) and 2ga cables (160% increase) under load could create enough heat to melt a motor only designed with limited current in mind. BTW Welcome to BGW! |
