Bombardier NEV owner exchange

In June I purchased a Bombardier NEV. I am 76 and had several project vehicles. I told the previous owner I was not interested in a PROJECT car because of my physical and mental conditions. He assured me that there were a few minor "tweaking" issues but it ran well. I had to jump to buy as I sent a deposit that gave me first right of refusal. I had no idea of what I was getting into. Six months later and various part replacements I have reached the end of the trail. I have learned a lot and still building a learning curve. I would be happy to share my experiences with other owners if they would contact me. johnsonenterprises1@comcast.net.

Howdy clizbe1! I recently acquired a '99 Bombardier NV Class-e. I have a service manual and parts list. I successfully changed the auxiliary battery and now need to drop the battery tray again to load test the mains as my range is only about 6 miles @ 70%. I would like to know what type of batteries and range you get from your's. Thanks in advance.

Range Update: Faulty Instrument Cluster?

I took my first trip downtown today with my wife to try out the range of my NV. We made it down to the pizza shop and then I headed for home. Just like all the previous excursions my battery gauge showed about 50% discharge at 3-4 miles. I've never driven it until the battery warning light (and beeper, it turns out) comes on, which it did at about 8-9 miles.

Although spooky with a warning light lit up on the cluster and a beeping every 30 seconds or so, I continued driving around the neighborhood until I lost my nerve at 11 miles total. My gauge showed empty at 6-7 miles but I was able to maintain top speed, accelerate normally, and had no apparent loss of power when I climbed the driveway and parked in the garage.

My problem must be with the instrument cluster and not the batteries.
So, I have a fault code and an innaccurate battery gauge to figure out.

Otherwise I couldn't be happier with the performance and handling of my Bomb. I sure would like to chat with some other NV owners to get more of an idea what is a "normal" cruise range for these rigs though.

Hello, I just joined this site, I have 3 bombardier golf carts, one now has a gas honda 125 motor with a 5 speed ,and the other 2 still have electric, 1 has a contractor fault problem in the controller, still working on that one.
About your range problem and cluster display. I have found that you may be able to reset the cluster by removing the 40 amp fuse and then put it back.Make sure your battery's are fully charged before doing this. The fuse is on the pos side of the auxiliary battery. I have cut a 6" by 8" long hole in all my carts to gain access to the aux battery. If you deside to cut the hole just be carefull not to cut the wiring, it runs alone the side of the tunnel, stay 1 1/2 " in from the side of the tunnel. I could send you some pictures if needed.

5 Attachment(s)
The honda one will do around 50, need to mount the frame in rubber. I have found that cutting access holes for battery's is a must. Here are a couple of pic's.

Thanks for posting those pix! The access holes are clever and look as though they could have been OEM. You've got some nice cars... 50 must feel like 100!

I hope I can find a couple more myself, preferably cheap non-runners. I wanted to hybridize one with an Onan generator and LiPho4 battery pack. I also wanted to extend the wheelbase and add a cargo box.

Sweet Bombs... I guess I NVu!

I wonder where one would aquire a service manual and parts list such as you have. I would think trying to sort out any issues with these Bombi's without would be an impossibility. Appreciate anything that gets me going in the right direction on this.

need owners manual for a 99 Bombi

thanks, called them, nice guys on the parts counter, helpful and polite. They said they are the exclusive dealer world wide as they have purchased the entire parts inventory from Bombi in Canada. Manuals are 95 dollars plus shipping. First thing I need to try and find is an owners manual.

Anyone out there that can get me a copy of one of those?
