What are the pro's and con's of 8 6V batteries verses 6 8V bateries on a 48V system?

Re: 6V or 8V batteries
Eight 6 volt batteries will give the longest run time because there is more lead
And they are easier to get 12v power from any pair.( a common practice although not as sound as a power converter) Eight 6 volt batteries take up more space and require batteries to be mounted in the bagwell with extra long cables and additional hold downs. Eight 6 volt batteries weight about 150 pounds more. You can use a 36v and a 12v charger together to charge Six eights fit in the battery compartment. Standard battery cables fit. You will need a power converter for 12v accessories. Six 8 volts will need a 48v charger. Six 8 volt batteries is a very clean and simple way to go 48v Hope this Helps! |
