quirky reverse mode
the reverse on my 99' E class works well sometimes and at other times I can hear the solonoid or contacter rattling in and out like a machine gun and it won't move. It is trying to move but just jerks as the switch (s) are trying to make a clean connection or something.
anybody know where to start looking. I suppose the first thng I need to do is to locate the relays and such related to the reverse. I have no clue where to start. I pulled the dash tray last night but that only appears to contain windshield wiper and brake resevior and such. I pulled the seats and there are holes under the seats from the factory that measure a little more than 3" and I will hog those out to the maximum allowable by the seat mount bolts so that I may have some means of looking after those batteries if there is no down side to doing this. Has anyone had any problems with resonation or weakness in the body after removing the large area under the seats shown in the attached photo? |
