A2, where does that go?
Okay, Old cart project that I started, then went away, and now am back to. The wire A2 from the motor does not have a home? I cannot see where it goes. I have looked for a wiring diagram for this unit in vain. I even bought the owners manual from textron, useless, I will share it with anyone that needs it. I also have the parts manual, also useless for the wiring diagram I need. My unit is a 95 Cushman UTV Max Model 898670 48Volt. I found that someone sold a unit like mine in Craigs list! I am trying to get in touch with the guy that bought it, and trailer mine over to compare wire by wire! I have my fingers crossed!! Anyone out there tht might have a line on this unit? I can share what I have to anyone else in the same boat.

Re: A2, where does that go?
Have you looked at the reversing switch?

Re: A2, where does that go?
It goes one of two places: It either goes from motor straight to the F/R switch or it goes from motor to A2 on the controller. If it goes to the controller there is another cable on the A2 terminal that goes to the F/R switch.

Re: A2, where does that go?
Okay, then it must go to the controller because it is the original wire, and it cannot reach to the switch, but CAN reach to the controller. i will need to take the cables off the controller and find the one marked A2. Thanks for the information! Any idea where I can find a schematic? i bought the unit fried, so would like to make all the wiring checks before I make the connections to the battery pack! Thanks

Re: A2, where does that go?
Okay, there are four large terminals on the controller B-, B+, M- and the fourt I cannot see without taking the controller off.
I Have the A2 from the motor and it goes to ??? on the controller? Now the A1 terminal on the motor does go to the B+ So, I could assume that the A2 goes to the B- But you know what they say about assuming. Any thoughts? |

Re: A2, where does that go?
Any thoughts on where the A2 goes considering the markings on my controller?

Re: A2, where does that go?
A2 on motor will go to A2 on the controller.(or straight to F/R. It can go either way) Theres only 4 large terminals: B+, B-,M- and A2.....so the one you cant see must be A2.

Re: A2, where does that go?
Well, you sure had it right. The A2 motor went to the A2 on the controller. I used a mirror to see the terminal, and it was as you indicated. Since you seem to know this set up, let me ask about the other three (if you can impart your knowledge please). The A1 goes to the B+ terminal on the controller. The S1 goes to one solenoid, and the S2 goes to another solenoid. Seem right?
I got the unit Not Running, so a bit fearful to give it a try without some more knowledge. Wish i could find a wiring diagram. But no luck on that end. Tony in Michigan |

Re: A2, where does that go?
Nope, doesn't sound right to me but....Ive never worked on a dual solenoid setup like that. I tried myself to find some info but no luck. Those are reversing solenoids....that may help you find a diagram. Off hand I cant think of anything that uses that setup.
