Running Cart Without Resistor Coil?
I picked up two 3-wheel golf carts. EZ-Go/Cushman. I've cleaned and rebuilt the motor, replacing the wiring, etc. Last item that I have is the resistor coil. Since mine is in very poor condition, I was going to replace it. Resistor route will be a cheap option than a speed controller however has anyone just removed the coils and wire it "one-speed"? The original 5-position speed board is pretty rusty and will require some spit to get it clean.
Yes, it would most likely be a jerky ride at startup (kinda like Disneyland rides!) and I figured something will break, gearbox or motor with the startup surge. Thanks, Curtis |

Re: Running Cart Without Resistor Coil?
It will eventually (quickly) ruin the motor splines or the splines in the rear end... EXTREMELY hard on equipment.
