Please help
I have a 1962 Nordco Marketeer. It was running fine, and then stopped when ascending a hill. I brought it back to the shop with a strong burnt smell. I removed the front of the motor, took it to the local electric motor repair shop and they replaced the brushes, holder, wires, and bearing. $180.00…. I reinstalled the beautiful shiny new parts and she lurched forward…. About 6 inches and stopped with that familiar burnt smell…. I removed the entire motor this time and took it to the shop that did the repairs. They took a look at it and said “I wish you had brought us the whole motor the first time. The commutator is burnt, has arced and magnetized it. Also, the aluminum wires for the fields are burnt. You need a new motor.” So, anyone out there have one of these that need new brushes? I’d love to have it!!!
The numbers are 5BC 48 JB 644 A. 28 2. 36 75 C. 60 MIN Series Class B |
