Blown Motor
Hi guys, I just blew my g19 stock motor and will be looking for another motor. What would be a good choice from here.
I already have the Altrax dcx 400 controller with solenoid from Scotty B. I upgraded all my wire to 4 gauge. My cart is used mostly around the neighborhood. Thanks |

Re: Blown Motor
Not another GE "tin can" stock motor, like what it had. Those motors have kinda small brushes, thats why they fail. There are some good motors from GE and Advanced in "sepex models", but the stock motor was not too great for any long term use with more than stock amps. I have a hard time finding rebuildable cores to replace those motors these days.

Re: Blown Motor
Thanks guys, I was thinking of PQ Bandit because of the price, but shipping my old motor to South Carolina and back would be expensive.Do they just sell the motors?
I tried calling today but only the answering machine,i think their closed for voting. Happy voting. |

Re: Blown Motor
D&D doesn't require a core.

Re: Blown Motor
Whoever you get your motor from, be sure to tell them what controller you have. They, or alltrax will need to suggest a new field map for your motor. If your new motor is compatible with a stock motor controller, you wont need to make any changes. It is not the same as a series setup where "nearly any series motor works with any series motor controller".
