Default 4/12V conversion to 6/8V

What are the advantages to converting a YDRE Cart from a 4/12Volt battery pack to 6/8Volts. Range, cost, Longevity? Does Yamaha support this

The advantages are run time and seems battery life. 4-12's new-85 minutes download time, 6-8's new-105 minutes download time. Doesn't seem like alot, but the more you "work" the batteries, more chance of early failure. I've seen 4 -12's last 4 to 6 years and 6-8's last 6 to 10 years (depending on use and servicing correctly. Battery pricing, comparable, but you'd need some j hooks and a holdown and some custom battery cables.

Yamaha offers Ydre with 4x 12v, 6x 8v & 8x 6v. So, yes it is supported by yamaha. If you wanted to do the conversion using OEM parts, you would need to replace the battery tray, which is part of the whole floor. So it would be much easier to make your own brackets to fit the batteries in the stock tray.
