The new AC yamahas are here! YAY!
The new AC yamahas are here. The PTV models are equipped with really tall "60" profile 10" tires. Kinda ugly black steel wheels. They rule the sand! Beats the RXV stock (which WAS the "gold standard" for new stock offroading). Just air down the tires for good traction in soupy sand. I cant wait to build a lifted one! I can confirm it is a toyota built motor controller. The motor is very similar to the RXV, but more HP. Supposed to be a 350a controller. That strap, dont worry about that, golfcart roof sand sledding ("extra" roof on top).

Sweet an ac yammy! That'd be a sweet platform for an epic build.

For $7000 I can build a complete frame-off restored yamaha drive that will annihilate the new AC powered Drives and look WAY better doing it. Just saying.

What kind of warranty are you going to offer? Do i get a volume discount if i buy lots of them? How soon can i get my first batch delivered? I do agree you could have more fun building your own, if you were so inclined, and maybe save a little $.

For less then $7k I could and have built a much more capable cart that will out perform the new AC Drive in every way. I am only me in my garage on weekends tinkering. Scaled up production in a shop could easily be done, warranty and high build count could easily be done. I don't see a demand for modified carts though so it'll never happen except for one-offs. |
